🇵🇭 VIGAN • Bankathon at Mindoro Beach

"If there is marathon, Vigan also has bankathon. It is a race for boats." 

This event is still a part of the week-long celebration of VIVA VIGAN Festival of the Arts 2011 which as the title implies, features different kinds of arts especially Ilocano arts particularly in Vigan.

Vigan is a coastal city but its coastline is very limited and short. 

There are only two coastal communities in Vigan and they are Mindoro and San Pedro but about more than half of the coastline falls under the jurisdiction of Brgy. Mindoro so Mindoro alone, is considered by most of the Buigenios as the only beach in Vigan.
