"Past is past, but believe me, our past could give us an idea on how to fix our present and shape the future."
It's been six years since my brother and I embarked to a long-haul drive that changed my life's perspectives (long story). It was that motorbike ride that made me unearth the spirit of adventure residing in me. Bulanos beach in the town of Narvacan was one of our stopovers in that milestone trip so let me say this: "Hey, my friend. It's good to meet you again."

BULANOS BEACH, NARVACAN

[NARVACAN] ► HELLO! WELCOME TO NARVACAN!

Actually, In the span of six years, I've visited this beach several times. I've brought fellow travel bloggers here and I've been passing here (via the coastal road) every time I go home to ▼ #VIGAN

. This isn't part of the national highway so many travelers would miss this if they'd pass through Narvacan.

However, in spite of the several visits I've done here in the span of six years, nothing beats the feeling that me and my brother are both here for the second time. It's been six years since we both had a motorbike ride here and last October 17 was the second time we traveled here together. You know, my early travels are sentimental. It's really good to reminisce those days when I was still starting to travel. So many beautiful memories. Every place for me was raw, including this beach—perfect nostalgia.

It was sunset when we reached the beach. Actually, there was no grandiose fiery sunset maybe because it was raining in the next town. Well, in fact, it rained here just before we left.

Many have changed here. There's already a concrete coastal road. The coastal road was still under construction when we visited this beach for the first time in 2010. I remember we attempted to drive on that muddy road before but we didn't pursue. Me and my brother made a wild guess six years ago that this road would connect to the road in Sulvec beach then eventually to the highway. Now that we're here again, we proved that our guess was right. It felt good to reminisce the good old days.

Actually, our visit here in Bulanos beach was just random. You know, we were already on our way to Ifugao on board our motorbike that day when it suddenly rained in Santiago town and learned of the news that a super typhoon (Lawin) was entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility. We ditched our Cordillera adventures and decided to just drop here before we went back home.

Past is past, but believe me, our past could give us an idea on how to fix our present and shape the future. My past visits here have changed my perspectives in life. I was hooked to traveling up to present and my past travels would always be part of my future in search for answers and truth. I'm pretty sure, my brother also feels the same—reason why we're best travel buddies. | end |
